The prince of Kuwait, Nawaf Al-Ahmad, died at the age of 86
The Kuwaiti Amiri Diwan announced the death of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, at the age of 86.
The Amiri Diwan said in a statement, “With great sadness and sorrow, we mourn the death of the late His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait, who passed away to his Lord this afternoon, Saturday.”
The Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs in Kuwait announced that the burial ceremony for the late Emir’s body will be limited to the Emir’s relatives only at the Bilal bin Rabah Mosque tomorrow, Sunday.
In the same context, Kuwait State TV announced on Saturday that Crown Prince Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah had been appointed Emir of the country, succeeding Prince Nawaf.
The late Prince Nawaf is the sixteenth Emir of the State of Kuwait. He assumed power three years ago, succeeding his brother Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
