Messi wins his favorite award for the eighth time
On Monday evening, the annual ceremony held by France Football magazine to distribute the Ballon d'Or Awards for the year 2023 was held in Paris
Argentine star Messi won the Ballon d'Or for the eighth time in his career, beating Norwegian striker Erling Haaland and Frenchman Kylian Mbappe, his competitors in this award.
Messi lifted the 2022 World Cup title in Qatar with the Argentina national team, and also won the French League with Paris Saint-Germain, his former team.
Argentine striker Messi became the first player in history to win the Ballon d'Or with a non-European team, the American club Inter Miami.
