The Patriarch of Antioch condemns the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians
The Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Youssef Al-Absi, condemned the war crime carried out by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian children, women and the elderly, which resulted in thousands of martyrs and wounded, according to the Palestinian News Agency “Wafa”. Al-Absi indicated in a statement that targeting the National Baptist Hospital in Gaza, the Indonesian Hospital, and the Church of St. Porphyrius is a described crime against humanity and constitutes a flagrant violation of all conventions and laws related to human rights, and that such violations go beyond war crimes and reach the limits of systematic genocide. He called on the international community to intervene quickly and stop the massacres against oppressed peoples, support the Palestinian people, and protect the children, women and elders of Gaza. Al-Absi urged the international community not to have double standards and to prosecute criminals, and to take urgent action to make room for the entry of humanitarian and medical aid into the Gaza Strip, and to treat the wounded and injured, stressing the postponement of the opening of the jubilee year of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church until a date to be determined later.
